My loved one isn't receiving calls or texts

If check-ins aren’t arriving, it’s usually the phone number, a paused check-in, or carrier filtering. Here’s how to fix it.

If your loved one isn't getting their daily check-in, it's almost always one of a few simple things. Work through this checklist.

Quick checklist

  1. Check the phone number. Open the check-in and confirm the number is correct and current.
  2. Make sure it isn't paused. If you paused check-ins earlier, they stay off until you turn them back on.
  3. Check your plan. On the Free plan, calls pause once you reach the included minutes. Upgrading restores them.
  4. Texts not arriving? Some carriers occasionally filter automated texts. Confirm the number can receive texts and that messages from KinKeeper aren't blocked.
  5. Confirm the time and time zone. A check-in set in the wrong time zone can arrive at an unexpected hour.
