Read-only Money Monitoring
Supported account and transaction data can be reviewed for unusual activity. KinKeeper cannot move money, make payments, or change an account.
Security & privacy
KinKeeper uses permission-based access and layered safeguards to protect personal, financial, and wellness information.
Information is organized around one protected family workspace.
Permission is checked on the server before protected information is returned.
Built into the product
Security should be understandable. These are the controls behind the experiences families use today.
Supported account and transaction data can be reviewed for unusual activity. KinKeeper cannot move money, make payments, or change an account.
Connection tokens are kept on the server and encrypted before storage. They are not exposed in the browser or shared with a Kin Circle.
Server-side authorization limits who can see each family workspace. The account owner controls who is invited into the Kin Circle.
Signed events from supported providers are checked before KinKeeper accepts them, helping reject forged or altered requests.
Money connection
KinKeeper uses Plaid to connect supported financial accounts. The connection is designed for reviewing information, not controlling the account.
Plaid handles the financial-institution sign-in and lets the account owner choose which supported accounts to connect.
KinKeeper receives supported account and transaction data to organize activity and surface patterns worth reviewing.
The owner decides who can review updates and can disconnect a financial connection when it is no longer needed.
KinKeeper cannot transfer funds, pay bills, place trades, or change a financial account.
Wellness calls
Twilio provides the voice and messaging infrastructure used for KinKeeper wellness calls and related updates. KinKeeper limits product access to the people and services that need it to deliver the selected experience.
Only the information needed for the chosen wellness experience should move through this path.
Security program
Technology is one layer. Governance, review, response, and careful data handling matter too.
Identity checks, server-side permissions, and workspace boundaries help prevent one family from accessing another family’s information.
Changes are reviewed, tested, and checked for dependency and application risks before they reach the production service.
Operational errors and security-relevant events are monitored so the team can investigate, contain, and document issues.
We aim to collect the information needed to provide each protection and to limit access and retention according to its purpose.
Product providers are evaluated for their security role, data access, contract terms, and operational safeguards.
Security practices are reviewed as KinKeeper, its providers, and the risks facing older adults and families evolve.
Product connections
KinKeeper chooses established providers for defined product functions and keeps its own access and data-handling controls around those connections.
Connects supported financial accounts and provides read-only account and transaction information for Money Monitoring.
Provides voice and messaging infrastructure for wellness calls, reminders, and related delivery events.
